There are many classifications of honing machines nowadays. Today, we will talk about the classification of honing methods for small-hole honing machines. The two most common classifications are: classification by meshing method and classification by pressure type.

1. According to the meshing method:

① External gear honing method: Use an external honing wheel to hone an external gear;

② Internal meshing honing method: Use an internal honing wheel to hone an external gear, or use an external honing wheel to hone an internal gear.

2. By type of pressure applied:

① Variable pressure honing method: Adjust the initial pressure before honing, then fix the center distance. As honing progresses, the pressure gradually decreases until it almost disappears. This method can greatly correct gear eccentricity, but the honing wheel is under heavy load and is easily damaged. This method can be implemented on general gear shaving machines.

② Constant pressure honing method: Throughout the honing process, a constant pressure is maintained between the honing wheel and the workpiece. This method has strong error correction capabilities, high efficiency, and a long honing wheel life, but it places special requirements on the machine tool to maintain constant pressure. This can be achieved using a hydraulic mechanism or a counterweight. Various hydraulic systems have different types, structures, and operating conditions.

To meet the requirements of various systems, hydraulic oil must possess certain properties, such as viscosity, viscosity index, relative density, anti-wear properties, low-temperature performance, acid value, flash point, oxidation stability, demulsibility, hydrolytic stability, foaming properties, air release properties, shear stability, rust prevention, and filterability.
